We have several positions available for Field Technicians. Projects will include concrete surface restoration, polished concrete and epoxy coating installation.

Expectations:

Arrive promptly, well groomed, and prepared to work with all required personal protective equipment (most is provided). Follow direction of Senior Project Supervisor, Project Supervisor and/or Senior Laborers and exercise good judgment. Commit to The MJA Company’s objectives, goals, and initiatives and display a good attitude.

Detailed Description:

Learn to treat, repair and renovate existing horizontal concrete. Perform concrete repair work including crack repair and joint filling, concrete preparation, polished concrete and epoxy coating installation. Paid in house and on the job training is provided. New employees will work with experienced team members to train on equipment and learn proper techniques.

Schedule:

New trainees will work primarily first shift, Monday thru Friday. There will be occasions when second shift is required. Trainees are required to be available for at least 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday per month, with opportunities for more weekends and general overtime hours during late spring thru fall months. After completing the training period, trainees may be asked to work on a job far enough away to require staying in a hotel.

The job fair is intended to connect almost 1,000 students with skilled trade professionals, and show them the opportunities available in the construction industry. The students were from BOCES, Charter School for Applied Technologies, Alden High School, ECC and other schools. More than 50 WNY Construction leaders (including The MJA Company) were at the event. Students were able to speak one-on-one with professionals in skilled trades.
